3 Exterior Home Maintenance Tips For Spring

roof

Learn how to enhance your home this spring!

We are in the middle of April which means warm spring weather is coming our way.  Spring is the perfect time to go around your home and inspect all of the important features such as your roof and gutters.  You want to make sure that they help up will during the winter and that they will continue to do their specific functions throughout the summer and fall.  Luckily, there are few simple tips you can follow so that you are caring for the exterior of your home properly this spring.

Inspect Your Roof

When performing maintenance around your home, it is important that you start with your roof.  You want to make sure that the winter weather did not damage your roof and take off any shingles.  Warm summer weather can do more damage to your roof if any shingles are warped or cracked. If you notice any damage to your roof, then you should contact the professionals at Phil Dibello Family Roofing to perform well-needed repairs.

Re-Paint

Spring is the perfect time to re-paint any part of your home that you see that is fading.  One area that you need to focus on is your siding because that is one of the first elements guests see.  Make sure that you are inspecting your home siding closely and applying paint where it is needed. You want to make sure that you are applying a sealant to after you let the paint dry.

Trim Your Branches

One of the most important aspects of exterior home maintenance is trimming your tree branches.  Spring is the time where the leaves and branches on trees grow, although that is not a good thing when it comes to your home.  The last thing you want is a tree branch touching your home and possibly damaging it. You want to trim your trees so that you can avoid a branch falling on your roof during a storm.
